3 Reasons Why Christmas Is Stressful
1. Finding the perfect gift for friends and family-if anyone has a younger brother like mine, who plays computer games all day, mainly minecraft, you will know how I feel! It's like there is nothing you can think of to get him, and when you ask him, you don't even get a proper response! It's either a grunt and a shrug of the shoulders, or one of the above, but if your really lucky, you might get a "I don't know" or "Later/Not now" response, IN ACTUAL WORDS. How do I find the perfect gift for him?!
2. It's Summer-its always hot, and the best way to cool down is going to the beach. With half the population of Perth. All seeming to have migrated to my local beach. It is mayhem. Not only trying to find a parking spot, but also a place to park your bum on the sand, whilst still being able to watch your stuff from the shallow waters on this side of the reef. And the tide is out, so have to fight for space to 'swim' between the group of men who think they are fit but actually are not, and the kids playing with the new body board from Santa and the two or three English ladies who are in their one piece bathers and who are standing knee deep (if they are lucky to find a spot that deep), drinking champagne out of plastic glasses, all whist getting burnt to a crisp because its not cool to use sunscreen, because they want a tan. What a tan they'll get on Sunday, and how they will feel it! But how fashionable is it to have a white back with a big pink spot in the middle? At least you can walk on the reef, which I thoroughly enjoy doing :) But why not go to another beach, you may ask. Well, the other beach which is a short walk to the left of this one, is three times as bad at least, but it is a lot deeper, and there is more space to swim, but we always prefer this smaller one, which is a lot less popular on any other day but Christmas.
3. Shopping around Christmas-Always an expensive time of year, and to make things worse, THE SHOP IS SHUT ON CHRISTMAS DAY! No big deal for most, but for some people it is seriously like the world will end, and the shop is closed for one whole day a year, and they go into panic mode. The amount of food people buy on Christmas Eve, and how much more expensive peoples shops are leading up until Christmas is incredible! Panic Shoppers always occur on Christmas Eve, and are a completely irrational breed of humans who stock up on all the essentials, like chocolate coins, ham from the Deli, toilet paper and, most importantly, MILK. Always the milk that runs out first. Because every family will use 6 or more litres of milk on Christmas day, and then they can come and buy more on Boxing Day. But wait, there's more. There are these people, who not only want to go to the shops on Christmas Eve, but also want to be there first thing in the morning. THEY GOT UP TOO EARLY. You always find grumpy people early in the morning at the shops on Christmas Eve. But don't get me wrong, there also a lot of lovely lovely people in the shops too! Do yourself a favour, and don't risk your life shopping on Christmas Eve. Ahhhh, Christmas. My favourite time of year to be in a supermarket...
Most of the time Christmas is one of my fave times of the year, and it definitely isn't all bad! Do any of you guys find certain parts of Christmas stressful? Let me know, and we can all be stressed together! I hope everyone has a lovely, and relaxing, Christmas, and all the very best for 2016! Enjoy!
